Administrator

 (16 hours/week)Fixed Term Contract to August 2021

We are welcoming and friendly organisation and we are searching for someone who shares our commitment to empower women and build confidence through learning, support and well being opportunities.

This part-time position will be responsible for providing robust administration and data collection to our Supporting Sisters’ Programme and contributing to overall administration of the business. The role will include maintaining booking systems for all services, producing all forms of paperwork and keeping filing systems up to date.  You will also maintain data systems, providing accurate and timely reports, ensuring visitors/phone calls are dealt with effectively and providing meeting support.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills, including experience of databases and IT packages related to data collection and reporting.  Accuracy and attention to detail are vital, as is the ability to prioritise and plan work effectively.  You will be an excellent communicator, with strong numeracy and literacy skills, able to use your own initiative and work flexibly but also to work effectively as part of a team.  You must be open-minded and receptive and it would be beneficial to have an understanding of gender-specific work and/or experience of working in the voluntary sector.

Due to the nature of the role, it is an occupational requirement, allowable under The Equality Act 2010, that applicants must be female.  A DBS check is required for the position.

Salary £17,000 pro-rata (based on full-time 37 hour week)

Purpose of the Post

To respond to the challenges that exist in the former mining community of Horden and beyond, link local people to support available and the activities of the CRT, East Durham Trust and East Durham AAP and other organisations.

To build a volunteer led network of local residents, businesses and other interested parties in Horden Colliery and the surrounding area in order to develop their collective power to act together for the common good.

To encourage and support leadership activity by local residents, business people and third sector organisations.

To support the development of a neighbourhood plan and/ or community led activities that make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of local people in line with CRT’s strategy.

To respond to the needs and priorities of local people and facilitate support where appropriate.

To help coordinate the distribution of any funds made available by the CRT in support of its Communities that Work programme.
