Support for the above Apprentices

DurhamWorks have asked us at Citizens Advice County Durham to run a series of workshops offering support to young people who would like to submit an application for these positions.

In advance of the 9th June closing date we are running a 3 day workshop(9.30am-4pm) 28th,29th and 30th May at Four Clocks Centre in Bishop Auckland and another on 3rd,4th and 5th June at Citizens Advice in Peterlee.

We already had dates in the diary to run this 3 day intensive course on 10th,11th and 12th June at the Four Clocks Centre, which although is too late for the DCC application deadline, will support young people in applying for other apprenticeships and job opportunities around the county!

Young people will need to register with DurhamWorks , so must be aged 16-24,resident in County Durham and not in education, employment or training. FINANCE ASSISTANT (Ref 19.07)

Salary £9,608 - £11,432 per annum + pension contribution + generous holidays 22 hours per week (Wednesday to Friday)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small finance team providing essential administrative and finance support to Age UK County Durham.

If you want to work in a friendly environment that makes a difference to older people’s lives then this could be the job for you. We are looking for applicants with previous experience of inputting

and processing financial data in an accurate and timely manner. This post is ideally suited to someone with an AAT or equivalent qualification who wishes to work part time.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join an existing successful team providing Information and Advice to older people and assisting them with benefit enquiries.

If you want to work in an environment that makes a real difference to older people’s lives then this could be the job for you.  We are looking for applicants with previous experience of providing Information and Advice and handling welfare benefit enquiries and claims, with a proven track record of organisational skills. 

Based at our head office at Belmont Business Park, Durham you will be assisting with benefit enquiries and claims countywide and therefore a clean driving licence and daily access to a car is essential. The post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

COMMUNITIES TOGETHER DURHAM

The FIC Project is an ecumenical partnership which works with local groups to enact appropriate faith motivated responses to social and economic disadvantage in neighbourhood and communities across the Durham Diocesan area.

The Project Officer will work with the project steering group and our community development team to develop new community projects and support the existing network.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident person to deliver the Young Carers Neighbourhood Charter programme. You will need to be qualified to a level three or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education or equivalent and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Working as part of the Young Carers team, the successful candidate will help schools, services and community groups to gain: Young Carers Charter status. You will provide Charter consultation, training and support and co-produce written evaluations across County Durham. The role requires travel across County Durham and so a willingness to be mobile and use own vehicle is essential.
