Who says young people lack aspirations and ambition?
Just a reminder to sign up to the Young People’s Aspirations and Ambitions Seminar which is taking place on Friday March 29th, between 1.00pm and 4.30pm, at Bishop Auckland Town Hall, where we will debate what to do to help young people achieve their ambitions and aspirations in County Durham.
We can now confirm that the Bishop of Durham, the Rt Revd. Paul Butler will open the event
You may have already signed up, thank you! But if not, please do, because we need to start a big conversation in the county on how organisations supporting young people need to think about the way they work with young people and with each other
You will need to register your place by completing the booking form before 18th March 2019 at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/young-peoples-aspirations-and-ambitions-seminar-2019-tickets-56099466013
The summary report, attached, presents some pretty challenging messages - but it's time to look at what we all do to support young people and especially those from less advantaged areas.
Community Learning Network Event – Thursday 4 April 2019
Durham County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service (ALSS) receives funding from the Education and Skills Funding Agency to provide a wide range of community based learning provision to bring together adults (often of different ages and backgrounds) to help them to pursue an interest, address a need, gain a new skill, or become healthier
ALSS is committed to working with the voluntary and community sector to determine what community learning provision is required across County Durham and how it should be delivered. As such, we would like to invite you to a network event taking place at the Leadership Centre, Spennymoor, on Thursday 4 April 2019 from 10.00 am until 1.00 pm.
