Make your own history at Beamish, The Living Museum of the North **New**

Take a tram ride back in time and experience the amazing sights, sounds, smells and tastes of days gone by at Beamish, The Living Museum of the North. One of the best open air museums in the world, Beamish located in the Vale of Durham tells the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, early 1900s, 1940s and very soon the 1950s! Beamish is a living, working museum that allows visitors to really experience what everyday life was like for people of the past. Explore the 350-acre site and meet friendly costumed folk who’ll share their stories with you. Ride on a steam train, catch a lesson in the village school, go underground at a real coal mine, sample the tasty treats in the bakery and sweet shop or even brave a visit to the 1900s dentist's surgery.

Throughout the year there are fantastic festivals and historic events to enjoy at Beamish - including Summer of Fun. Every day throughout the school holidays, from 21st June to 29th August there 'll be amazing activities taking place across the museum -

Enter CIC Summer School **New**

Enter CIC’s summer school for 2018 will have plenty of beats as its the Tony Award-winning musical Hair Spray!

The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray JR. is the family-friendly musical piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. Adapted from the Broadway production that won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hairspray JR. is a show that will celebrate your students’ diversity and bring audiences to their feet with its positive message and uproarious sense of humor.

It’s 1962, and spunky, plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has one big dream – to dance on the popular “Corny Collins Show.” When she finally gets her shot, she’s transformed from social outcast to sudden star. In balancing her newfound power with her desire for justice, Tracy fights to dethrone the reigning Miss Teen Hairspray, Amber von Tussle, and integrate a TV network in the process. With the help of her outsized mom, Edna, and guest DJ, Motormouth Maybelle, the rhythm of Tracy’s new beat just might prove unstoppable. Hairspray JR. is filled with a host of parts for a wide cross-section of students and an abundance of energetic production numbers.

Our summer schools are extremely popular and you don’t even have to be a member of Enter to attend. In fact this is how many young people discover how fabulous Enter CIC is! However, you have to be quick off the mark as places on our summer schools fill up fast and places are limited!

Come on don’t miss the beat, get welcomed to the 60’s and secure your summer school place by calling 01740 655437.
