Derwent Valley AAP Board Public Reps **New**

Derwent Valley Partnership Public Representative Board Vacancies (x6)

The Derwent Valley Partnership (DVP) Board has six vacancies within its public representative category, further to the current public representatives shortly coming to the end of their four year term.

This is an exciting opportunity for Forum members with a keen interest in their local community to join a dynamic and proactive Board who have successfully delivered a number of projects throughout the Derwent Valley Partnership area since the formation of the Partnership in June 2009.

The role itself is not onerous, in terms of time commitments, there is a requirement to attend a Board Meeting every two months (six meetings per year in total), and preferably to have input to at least one of our Task & Finish Groups who take a lead in addressing our local priorities. The role is about sharing your valuable local knowledge and being passionate about your community – helping to make a difference in our area.

If you would like more information about the role of a public representative, or would like to receive the full application pack, please contact a member of the DVP team on 03000 260 725 or e-mail us at dvaap@duham.gov.uk who will be happy to help you either over the telephone or in person.

The deadline for completed and returned application forms is 5pm on Friday 24th March 2017. Once we receive your completed application, a member of the DVP team will be in touch to outline the next steps.

This is your opportunity to become directly involved in what’s going on in your local area and we look forward to hearing from you.

Your opportunity to get involved! **Current**

Further to consultation with local residents, the Derwent Valley Partnership will be focusing its work on the following three priorities during 2016/17:

Activities for children and young people
Employment, education, training and regeneration
Environment

A Task Group for each of these priorities will be exploring these themes and developing new project ideas to address gaps in services, add value to existing services and to make the area better for residents. The Partnership would like residents who have an interest in these topics to get involved in shaping their work moving forward, each Group meets once every six weeks at a local venue and everyone is welcome.

If you live, work, volunteer or study in Derwent Valley and have an interest in any of the above topics please let us know so we can work with you to help improve the area.
